Toyota C+pod, a Unique Electric Car Like a Child's Toy

The Toyota C+pod is Toyota's battery-based electric car or what is called a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), and is specialised for short-distance mobility, both in rural and urban areas.



Toyota C+pod was first introduced in Japan at the end of 2020. And can only be tried in Indonesia a few months later.



Toyota C+pod specifications are relatively small and uniquely shaped which uses battery technology as its heart.

Dimensions

This electric car from Toyota is 2,490 mm long, 1,290 mm wide, and 1,550 mm high. While the turning radius is about 3.9 m, so it is able to manoeuvre on narrow roads and easily when parking.

This compact car is equipped with a 1RM or permanent magnet electric motor with a maximum power of 9.2 kW (equivalent to 12.3 hp) and a maximum torque of 56 Nm.

Speed

For speed, the Toyota C+pod has a speed of 60 km/h and is powered by a 51 Ah /177.6 Volt/9.06 kWh Lithium Ion battery. The cruising range of the battery is about 150 km on a single charge.

Battery

The battery can be recharged within 5 (five) hours of standard 200V/16A charging and 16 hours of 100V/6A charging. The charging cable is 100/200 VAC which can be connected directly to a power outlet.

Exterior

As for the exterior appearance, the Toyota C+pod uses plastic materials to reduce the weight of the vehicle so that it is very light to drive.

Toyota C+pod is available in dual-tone colours, such as Cyan-Metallic combination and Orange-Metallic combination.

Currently, the Toyota C+pod has two variants, type X and type G with different prices. The price set is still adjusted to the advantages it has.
